Asbestos Awareness Training for Construction and Associated Personnel
Asbestos related disease currently accounts for some 4000 deaths in the UK each year. Construction personnel are now the group at highest risk from asbestos when they work in existing buildings which may still contain asbestos containing materials.
Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 required that all workers who may come into contact with asbestos at work must receive Asbestos Awareness Training. This duty also extends to their supervisors and building professionals such as surveyors, engineers and architects.
This course that is both compliant with Regulation 10 and carries accreditation from The United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association (UKATA). The training takes one half-day and UKATA attendance certificates are awarded to delegates who pass the short test which is included in the course fee.

- how to avoid the risks from asbestos, for example: for building work no employee should carry out work which disturbs the fabric of a building unless the employer has confirmed that ACMs are not present
