DESIGNED FOR Architects, Engineers and Surveyors, including trainees, who are involved in the supervision of any construction project and who, consequently need a wide appreciation of their responsibilities and obligations under the legislation.
Course Objectives At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of the problem of accidents in construction work, a knowledge of the legal requirements and an appreciation of the safety precautions necessary in respect of a wide variety of site operations.
Course Content Legislation: Health and Safety at Work etc., Act 1974 Construction (Design and Management) Regulatons 2007 & other relevant construction regs Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Designing and planning for "safety": Training requirements Safe systems of work Safe systems of access and egress Safe place of work Safe plant and equipment Site operations: Safe scaffolding and working places Excavations and confined spaces Crane operations and lifting equipment Mobile plant hazards, including work on roads.
