This course is designed for Property and Facilities Managers, Maintenance Managers and Safety Professionals.  It would also be suitable for Premises Managers and for those with responsibility for buildings etc in the public and private domain.



Course Content

The course will consist of two parts - one focusing on the Management such projects ie:
Accident History - refurbishment/maintenance
Responsibilities of the Management team
Review of current legislation and cases in court:
Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974
Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007
Control of Contractors:
Approval, audit & evaluation
Authorised persons
Information from health & sfety file
Site rules - consultation
Supervision & Monitoring
The orther session will concentrate on 'Site Practice' - Hazards & Control ie:
Work at Height - requirments of the 2005 regulations
Behaviour of existing structures & temporary works
Fire precautions in refurbishment
Electricity - equipment & testing arrangements
Health risks
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health
Asbestos managment
Legionella management
Noise & Vibration
