DESIGNED FOR This one-day course is designed for new entrants to the Construction industry; Self-Employed Persons, providing support to the industry; Building and Engineering Students about to train on Construction Sites and Building Maintenance personnel. The course can also be used as the preperation training for the CSCS Scheme Health and Safety Test.
Course Objectives At the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of the problem of accidents in construction work, a knowledge of the legal requirements and an appreciation of the safety precautions neccessary in a wide respect of a wide variety of site operations.
Course Content The Construction Industry Safety Report Safe Systems of work, Safe Access/Egress, Places of work Safe Plant, Safe Handling, Transport and Storage of Substances HSE Powers Risk Assessments/Method Statements Information, Instruction, Training and Supervision Emergency Plans COSHH, Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome, Dermatitis Noise Induced Hearing Loss, Exposure to Asbestos Fibres Competence, Certification Schemes Safe use of PPE/RPE Maunal Handling Safe working places requiring inspection before entry Scaffolds, Tower Scaffolds, MEWPS, Excavations Ladders, Coffer-Dams/Caissons Work beside water Site Transport and Construction Plant Temporary Site Electrics
