Course Objectives

At the end of the course delegates will have an understanding of the problem of accidents in construction work, a knowledge of the legal requirements and an appreciation of the safety precautions necessary in respect of a wide variety of site operations.

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health

Designing and planning for “Safety”:

Training requirments
Safety systems of work
Safety systems of access and egress
Safe place of work
Safe plant and equipment
Mobile plant hazards, including work on roads

Site operations:

Safe scaffolding and working places
Excavations and confined spaces
Crane operations and lifting equipment
Mobile plant hazards, including work on roads
