Course Objectives
The title ‘Facilities Manager’ is used to describe a wide wide variety of job functons and our intensive one-day course will provide a basic overview of the safety aspects of such a role.

Review of Current Legislation:
- Health & Safety at Work etc., Act 1974
- Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007
Control of Contractors:
- Approval, audit and evaluation
- Issue of safety code
- Information from health and safety file
- Site rules – consultation
- Supervision and monitoring
Part 2 – Site Practice hazards and controls
- Work at Height – requirements of the 2005 regulations, Work Equipment – review of the 1998 regulations
- Fire Perevention – review of the Regulartory Reform Order 2006
- Permits to Work – various applications
- Electricity – equipment and testing arrangements, Waste Management
Health risks:
- Control of Substances Hazardous to Health
