Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)

Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)

Important Announcement

Operative (CSO) card will no longer be issued

From 1st July 2014 the green Construction Sire Operative (CSO) card will no longer be issued. There will be a new green CSCS card only available for people working in labouring occupations.

If you work in a labouring occupation, you can take the Site Safety Plus route when applying for the new Green Labourer Card. You will need to provide evidence that you have achieved Level 1 Award Site Safety Plus Health & Safety Awareness Course.

CSCS have accepted the Site Safety Plus Health and Safety Awareness (one day) Course as an alternative to the QCF qualification.

This course aims to ensure that individual responsibilities are understood;

• Why delegates are carrying out their indentified duties

• What is expected of delegates

• Ensuring delegates contribute to the safety of the workplace

The course is supported by the Safe Start (GE707) publication, and there is an end of day examination. The certification has a five year life, and the Green Card can be applied for as long as the certificate is in date at the point application.
