FREE Seminar on Construction Dust

Seminar on Construction Dust

Thursday 27th March 2014

JSP Ltd are offering all of the Construction Health & Safety Group members the opportunity to participate in a Construction Dust Seminar on the same afternoon, the 27th March 2014, at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel, London W1. The session will be informative and update those attending on the current issues and changes that are occurring within the area of respiratory protection from different points of view. Places are both free of charge and limited, so early booking will avoid disappointment.

Awareness – The HSE has initiatives in place to try and raise the awareness of the need for the effective use of respiratory protective devices (RPD). These include the Clean Air – Take Care campaign and the events that they have been holding to improve the understanding of hazards involved with construction dust.

Selection – The selection of the correct RPD is the one of the most important aspects of implementing an effective RPD programme. Face Fit testing, EN529, HSG53, OC282/28 are all part of this, but what do they all mean and how are they interpreted?

Types of respiratory protection – There is a large range of RPD available on the market, how do you know which type is right for you – fit, purchase price, life cycle, cost, disposable/reusable?

What does the future hold? – Trends in the purchasing of RPD have been changing in recent years. The HSE’s research has resulted in them driving some of the change. There are also new International Standards due to come out which will considerably change the way in which RPD is used and specified.

The seminar will be conducted by:-

Matthew Judson – Director of Respiratory & Technical Support.

Start time 2pm.

Length 3hrs (includes 30 minute coffee and networking break.)
