Health and Safety In The UK Construction Industry
According to recent research by the government Health and Safety Executive, although the construction industry only accounts for 5% of the UK’s workforce, figures show that 22% of fatal injuries and 10% of reported major injuries are occurring within this sector.
With these kind of statistics, it’s clear that occupational health and safety in the UK construction industry continues to be of major importance. Whilst some of these injuries occur through circumstances that are out of the worker’s control, the majority of them can be avoided given the right health and safety training.
It is therefore vital for both businesses and employees to ensure that their construction workers have received up-to-date and thorough safety training and that health and safety measures are being implemented.
The range of courses offered by CHSG cover all areas of safety knowledge and training that are needed in the construction industry. From Fire and Height Safety courses to specialised courses in the safe use of specific machinery, we can provide the training necessary to dramatically reduce the risk of accident and injury on construction sites.
