The theme of this year’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work is:
According to HSE, between 2020 and 2021, 1.7 million working people suffered from a work related illness, with 441,000 working people sustaining an injury at work. 142 workers were killed at work during this time period.
World Day for Safety and Health at Work was set up by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and aims to help prevent occupational accidents and disease globally. This year the focus is on building a positive safety and health culture by exploring the topic of participation and social dialogue and their role in formulating a positive environment.
Participation from governments, employers, workers, and all relevant parties at national and enterprise level, is essential to creating a string OSH system and social dialogue contributes to the improvement and development of ownership and commitment when implementing OSH policies and regulatory frameworks.
You can register to attend the global webinar on 28th April.
