Building Safety Regulator Announces Building Control Reform

After October 2023 more than 4500 practising building control surveyors in England will have to undertake assessment via either the Building Safety Competence Foundation or Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) and be certified in order to continue in the profession. This has been enforced by the Building Safety Act 2022.

Assessment will need to be made before April 2024, and registration will become mandatory from this date.

This applies to both private sector and local authority building control professionals.
