Debbie has worked in the construction, engineering, manufacturing, and quarrying sectors for nearly 40 years.
Working in the UK, Europe, Australasia, Africa, and Hong Kong. She initially worked for Redland Bricks and Redland International specialising in HSEQ including fire. The business was then merged with LaFarge where she then moved to the European R&D, which included International Ceramic Engineering, project management, and specialised training.
From 2009 to 209 Debbie was with Arup, where she was an Associate Director in the Corporate Legal Team specialising in Health, Safety, and Wellbeing for the UKMEA region, with additional global project responsibilities and specialist activities.
She was involved in a range of construction projects, for example, the 2012 Olympic Pool, Dubai Pool, Crossrail, Forth Road Crossing, Thames Tideway, Dublin T2, and others overseas.
During this time she worked on several committees including the Same Carol Black Responsibility Group, Deputy Chair of the ICE Health and Safety Committee, plus a member of the Consultants Health & Safety Forum, and Co-Chair of CHSG.
Since 2020 she has been driving development at CHSG for the Fire Safety Academy, and the development of fire courses for the construction industry with the Board, trainers, and office team.
