The one-day Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme Refresher Course is for those have already successfully completed the two day Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course.  The course includes a wide range of topics which have been affected by the change procedures detailed in the material of the original course. The course will also cover current trends within the HSE direction of enforcement incorporating developments in construction, legislation, health and safety, welfare and environmental issues.  

Note: You will need to provide proof of your completion of the SSSTS course in order to attend this refresher. You can email this certificate to our team at: info@chsg.co.uk. This is a course requirement. 

This refresher aims to bring health and safety knowledge up-to-date, as well as giving a thorough overview of any legislative changes and their impact on the workplace.

Course Information

Course Overview

Delegates will need to provide proof of successful completion of the Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course before attendance on this refresher is permitted. 

This refresher course aims to update delegate’s knowledge of the current trends within the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)’s direction of enforcement, alongside any recent developments within construction, legislation, health and safety, welfare and environmental issues.

It will also recap the measures that will assist delegates within the practical implementation of their responsibilities, established by new legislation and working practices. 

By the end of this course delegates will be able to implement:

  • All updated health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation which affects your role as a supervisor
  • New guidance and industry best practice affected by changes
  • Your duties and responsibilities with regard to health, safety, welfare and the environment

Upon successful completion of the course delegates will receive a CITB certificate. 

CITB SSP Courses - Mandatory Requirements

Delegates will be required to bring some form of photographic identification with them on the day of their course. Where identification is not provided by a delegate, they will be refused attendance on the course. 

In order to attend this course delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English. 

For the SSSTS refresher, prior to attending the course delegates are required to provide a copy of their current CITB SMSTS certificate. You can email this certificate to our team at: info@chsg.co.uk. This is a course requirement. 

All training is conducted at our John Ryder Training Centre in Chertsey. Centre opening hours are 8am to 5.30pm, but this course commences at 9am and will finish at approx 5pm, unless otherwise stated in the joining instructions you receive.

Refreshments are included on all courses, but NO LUNCH is currently provided, but there are lots of lunch options within walking distance of the centre.

Please ensure you have read the joining instructions before arriving at our training centre. 

If you are travelling by road, Chertsey is served by both the M3 and M25. No parking is permitted on the grounds of the Centre, but there is sufficient free parking in and around Chertsey, all within walking distance.

For those using public transport, Chertsey is served by a good service from Waterloo, changing at Staines, Weybridge or Virginia Water for the Chertsey line. The station is approximately ten minutes walk from the Centre. 

If you are attending a two day course and require overnight accommodation, a local hotel list is available upon request.
