The NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management will enable you to carry out a wide range of fire risk assessments in the workplace and identify the range of fire protective and preventative measures required. This course is, therefore, suitable not just for managers and supervisors, but for people moving into fire safety advisor roles also. This course should help you to develop a safer environment for all employees and visitors on the premises.
The course is held on a one-day a week basis and dates will be available shortly.

Day 5 – Monday 29th June 2020
Exam – Friday 17th July 2020
The course will cover the following units:
Unit FC1: Fire Safety and Risk Management
- Element 1 – Managing for safety
- Element 2 – Principles of explosion
- Element 3 – Causes and prevention of fires
- Element 4 – Fire protection in buildings
- Element 5 – Safety of people in the event of a fire
- Element 6 – Fire safety risk assessment
Unit FC2: Fire Safety Practical Application
- Purpose and aim
- Assessment location
- Assessment requirements
- Submission of completed work.
You will be assessed by written examinations for each of the units, in addition to the fire safety risk assessment.
You will receive a certificate on successful achievement of each unit and you will also receive a certificate parchment upon successfully achieving the two units and practical assessment.
The NEBOSH Fire Certificate is accepted in support or your application for the entry on to the IFE Register of Fire Risk Assessors.
All training is conducted at our John Ryder Training Centre in Chertsey. Center opening hours are 8am to 5.30pm, the course commences at 9am and finish at approx 5pm , unless otherwise stated in the joining instructions. Refreshments are included on all courses (lunch is included on full day courses only).
If you are travelling by road, Chertsey is served by both the M3 and M25. No parking is permitted on the grounds of the Centre, but there is sufficient parking in and around Chertsey, all within walking distance of the John Ryder Training Centre.
For those that use public transport, Chertsey if served by a good service from Waterloo, changing at Staines, Weybridge or Virginia Water for the Chertsey line. The station is approximately ten minutes walk from the Centre.
