Course Overview
You will need to provide proof of you successful completion of the SSSTS course before attendance on this refresher will be permitted.
This refresher course aims to update your knowledge on the current trends within the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) direction of enforcement, alongside any recent developments within construction, legislation, health and safety, welfare and environmental issues. You will also recap the measures that will assist you within the practical implementation of your responsibilities, established by new legislation and working practices.
By the end of this course you will be able to implement:
- All updated health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation which affects your role as a supervisor;
- New guidance and industry best practice affected by changes, and;
- Your duties and responsibilities with regard to health, safety, welfare and the environment.

Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a CITB certificate.
CITB SSP Courses - Mandatory requirements
You will be required to bring some form of photographic identification with you on the day of your course. Where identification is not provided by a delegate, they will be refused attendance on the course.
In order to attend this course you must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
For the SSSTS refresher, prior to attending the course you are required to provide a copy of your current CITB SMSTS Certificate. You can email this certificate to our team at: info@chsg.co.uk. This is a course requirement.
Location
All training is conducted at our John Ryder Training Centre in Chertsey. Center opening hours are 8am to 5.30pm, the course commences at 9am and finish at approx 5pm, unless otherwise stated in the joining instructions. Refreshments are included on all courses (lunch is included on full day courses only).
If you are travelling by road, Chertsey is served by both the M3 and M25. No parking is permitted on the grounds of the Centre, but there is sufficient parking in and around Chertsey, all within walking distance of the John Ryder Training Centre.
For those that use public transport, Chertsey if served by a good service from Waterloo, changing at Staines, Weybridge or Virginia Water for the Chertsey line. The station is approximately ten minutes walk from the Centre.
If you are attending a two day course and require overnight accommodation, a local hotel list is available upon request.
