Matt has more than 22 years’ experience in the fire industry, he has worked with leading extinguisher manufactures to help them gain Full EN3 approval, and Fire Ratings under EN3 for their products, working in conjunction with LPCB, and Lloyds Register. He has run his own fire safety business providing all types of fire and safety products to the UK and Europe. Dealing with international corporations such as General Motors Europe, Aston Martin, Bentley Motors, Nissan UK, London Taxis International, and Scania Bus Poland, UK Retail clients including, Halfords, Currys, Go Outdoors, and Blacks Camping, public sector organisations such as Police Forces, local Authorities and Schools.
Matt now provides advice and solutions to help mitigate the fire risk with fire safety products for both commercial and residential building projects and has a particular interest in the risks, causes and effects of Lithium Battery fires. Martin Lovegrove and Christopher O’Hare, from the Berkeley Group, will be co-presenting on the Partial Occupation of Buildings.
The presentation looks at the issues involved with partially occupying high-rise apartment blocks. It will review the risks that are introduced by the construction workers, as well as the occupants of the completed dwellings. It will also look at the legal requirements involved from the persons responsible for managing either portion of the building and identify how important it is for them to collaborate in order to allow safe occupation and safe building work to be carried out.
