As the UK’s National Standards Body, the BSI has developed the BS 99001 Quality Management Systems - Specific requirements for the built environment sector, which is due to be published by the end of 2021.
This new standard has been developed due to some fundamental quality issues that the built environment sector has faced over the recent years. These issues have highlighted shortcomings of using ISO 9001 within the sector.
In turn, this has led to the development of a single, focused built environment quality standard that will provide additional requirements alongside those of ISO 9001; the BS 99001 Quality Management Systems requirements for the built environment sector.
The BSI are running a free webinar on 26th May that will provide you with the following:
- an overview of why quality management is more vital than ever to the sector
- Introduction to BS 99001: its aims, anticipated benefits and relationship to ISO 9001
- the opportunity to share your views and ask questions about the new standard and the issues that it will look to tackle
This webinar is for anyone within the built environment sector, from design to construction and insurance.
Speakers on the webinar will include:
Ian Richardson – Sector Lead for Built Environment, British Standards Institution (BSI)
Jon Adshead – Compliance & Audit Director, Mace
