Mark Bridgens of Everlux

Everlux & Masterlux Photoluminescent Safety Signs & Systems specialise in the study, research and development of technologies applicable to the manufacture of (phosphorescent) safety signs.

Mark Bridgens, a UK Sales Manager, is an active member of the British Standards PH/8/1 Graphical Symbols – Safety Signs and ISO ISO/TC 145/SC 2 – Safety identification, signs, shapes, symbols and colours Technical Committees as well as being an active member of the National Executive Committee for IFEDA and an Associate member of the IFSM.

He joins us to offer a general overview of the UK legislation & key standards regarding fire safety & escape route signage inc. evacuation, fie-equip., fire door & way finding signage with reference to:

  • Health & Safety (Safety Signs & Signals) Regulations 1996
  • Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
  • The Building Regulations – Approved Document B
  • The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022
  • BS5499-4: 2013 Code of Practice for Escape Route Signing
  • BS ISO 16069: 2017 Safety Way Guidance Systems (SWGS) with a particular focus on Low Location Lighting (LLL) systems.
  • BS ISO 7010:2019 Safety Colours & Safety Signs

Dave McGlynn of Protec

With over 30 years’ experience, Protec International Ltd are Europe’s leading manufacturer and supplier of Temporary Protection Materials, used to protect expensive fixtures and fittings, for the construction industry.

Dave McGlynn, National Key Account Manager, joins us to focus on temporary protection materials on construction sites and the recent changes to the Joint Code of Practice 10.1 (section 10) around the use of plywood or timber as a protection method. This is very much of the moment and is key to main contractors, sub contractors and fit out companies.
