Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month, with the exception of August when there is no meeting and December when it's the second Wednesday in the month.

Our meetings provide:

Annual General Meeting

CHSG members are invited to attend our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 17th April at 9.30am.

The AGM can be attended in-person at our Chertsey Centre or online via Zoom – you can register for either options here. The standard AGM format should be completed within 30 minutes.

We will also be providing breakfast for those wishing to join us on the morning of the 17th pre-AGM – please advise us when you register whether you would like us to order you either a bacon bap or vegetarian (egg) option.

Monthly Meeting

Tom Cawston of Q-Tex

Tom Cawston, Technical Director from Q-Tex, joins us to discuss DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002), which puts duties on employers and the self-employed to protect people from these risks to their safety in the workplace, and to members of the public who may be put at risk by work activity.

Q-Tex are a specialist hazardous area engineering company, and Tom’s role sees him responsible for compliance and safety within explosive atmospheres at consulting and contracting level in the construction industry.

Tom will be joining us to answer these and many more questions as part of his presentation:

  • Do you know how to carry out a DSEAR risk assessment?
  • Do you know how to mitigate your DSEAR site risks?
  • Have you considered the requirements of DSEAR with respect to the RRFSO, CDM regulations or Approved Document B along with the RIBA stages?
  • Do you know how to use your COSHH information and in particular your MSDS documents to understand the chemical properties of all your site materials and their potential impact with respect to DSEAR?

Start time: 9.15am arrival for 9.30am til roughly 11am
