As of the 6th April 2022 the Personal Protective Equipment at Work (Amendment) Regulations 2022 came into effect and amend the 1992 Regulations (PPER 1992).
In November 2020, a court judgement found that the implementation of the Personal Protective Equipment Directive should extend to limb (b) workers and not just employees.
The changes came into effect on 6th April 2022 and realign employers responsibilities to workers regarding the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
The regulations extend employers and employees duties in respect of personal protective equipment to workers.
