Safety Case Report Open Letter Issued to Building Managers

Housing Minister Lee Rowley and Director of Building Safety Phillip White have issued an open letter to Registered Building Managers regarding the need for Safety Case Reports to identify risks in high-rise buildings that need to be registered with the BSR (Building Safety Regulator) (over 18 metres in height).

In the letter they recognise the challenges, especially financial, facing those accountable in accumulating the information required for a Safety Case Report and how to communicate and pass on this cost this effectively to leaseholders.

They also highlight the guidance the BSR have provided and how the BSR can answer further questions.

Leaseholders should be able to understand what they are being charged for and why, how much it will cost and how long the work is expected to take.
