The CHSG Fire Safety & Fire Risk Management Diploma Now Qualifies for CITB Grant

Starting on 4th May and run over 12 sessions through our Fire Safety Academy, the CHSG Diploma in Construction Fire Safety & Fire Risk Management is a must for those who are being developed to or currently do undertake the role of Responsible Person, a role that has become prominent in recent months due to the law changes under Article 24 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and enforced by the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.

CITB have announced that from 1st April they will double the funding applied for all SSP courses.

In addition to this the CHSG Diploma also now qualifies for the CITB short qualification grant – a value of £600 per course, and the course is also discounted for CHSG members.

Why Should I Undertake the Diploma?

1. You will gain knowledge across 10 comprehensive modules, including (but not limited to); Legal Structures and Requirements, Building Control and Enforcement, Active Fire Safety Systems, and Fire Risk Assessment.

2. Learn from industry professionals, with a range of specialist external speakers who will provide greater depth of knowledge and understanding in their particular fields.

3. With sessions spread out once a month for 11 months, you will be able to fit this course into your busy schedule.

4. Interactive course that promotes delegate engagement through presentations, case studies, group work and external speakers.

5. Held at our John Ryder Centre in Chertsey, you’ll have face-to-face contact with the course trainer and centre staff, as well as access to a forum for support between delegates and the trainer whilst completing independent work.

The Diploma course has been recognised by the IFSM, the IFE have confirmed it as a Recognised Educational Programme and the SQA have confirmed that it meets the academic qualification of Diploma level 10 with 50 credit points. CHSG is also an Approved Centre for the IFSM.

Diploma in Construction Fire Safety & Fire Risk Management

The Diploma course has been recognised by the IFSM, the IFE have confirmed it as a Recognised Educational Programme and the SQA have confirmed that it meets the academic qualification of Diploma level 10 with 50 credit points. CHSG is also an Approved Centre for the IFSM.

The course consists of 10 training days and two days of exams. Followed by a minimum 8000-word dissertation. The course is aimed at those who undertake the role of Responsible Person, or who are being developed to undertake this role.

The Diploma teacher time is 10 days, and attendance is compulsory (please ensure you can attend all sessions before booking the course). The delegate is expected to dedicate adequate time to undertake regular private study in-between the units and to also undertake significant private study time in order to achieve the required level of understanding required to pass all of the exams along with the dissertation.
